Defrost setting is designed
for speedy thawingd'frozen food
and is one of the greatadvantages
of a microwaveoven.

for defrosting,but you may change
this for more flexibility.

To become better acquaintedwith
the defrost function, defrost frozen
pork chops by followingthe steps
below.
Step 1:Placea l-lb.packageoffrozen
chops in the ovenand close door.
Step 2: TouchTIME DEFROST
Display shows ": O" and "POWER
3 :' "ENTER DEF TIME" flashes.
Step 3: Select OIIC h:dfof the total
defrosting time recommended in
your defrosting
guide. For

Step 4: TouchSTART."D13F
TIME" and "POWER 3" show and
time counts down on display.When
cycleis completed, the ovensignals
and flashes"End~' thenautomatically
shutsoff.
Step 5: Turn package over, close
door and repeat Steps 2 and 3 to set
remaining half of defrostingtime
and touch START.
Step 6: When oven signals and
flashes "End~'open door, remove
packageand separate chops to
finish defrosting.
Tips
@ Foods frozen in paper or plastic
can be defrosted in the package.

Q. When I
press START,I hear a
dull, thumping noise. What is it?
A. This sound is normal. It is
lettingyou knowthe oven is using a
power levellowerthan 10(High).

Can I defrostsnd
items in
a hurry?
A. Yes,but they will need more
frequent attentionthan usual. Raise
the power level after entering the
time by touchingthe desired power
levelpad. Powerlevel7 cuts the
total defrostingtime about in 1/2;
power level 10cuts the total
defrostingtime to approximately
1/3.During either, rotate or stir
food frequently.
IQ.Why don'tthe defrosting
times in the defrosting guide
seem right for my food?
A. These times are averages.
Defrosting time can vary according
to the temperature in your freezer.
Set your oven for the time indicated
in your defrosting guide. If your
food is still not completely thawed
at the end of that time, reset your
ovenand adjustthe time accordingly
Q. Should all foods be
thawed before cooking?
A. Some foods should not be
completely thawed before cooking.
For example, fish cooks so quickly
it is better to begin cooking while
it is still slightly frozen.

defrosting

A. Yes. Youmay open the door at
any time during microwaving. To
resume defrosting, C1OSC the door
and press START.The oven begins
operating if time is left on timer.
If not, reset timer.
